Different types of braces

Many people choose braces in St John’s Wood to help improve their smile, and it could be the option for you. There are a few different types of braces, which is an advantage as it means there are more options for you to choose from depending on your dental health, price range and other preferences.

Lingual braces

One option that you might choose may be lingual braces. These are fixed braces that are applied to the back of your teeth. There are many advantages that come with these, one being that they are virtually invisible to anyone else, and this really helps with our patients’ self-confidence during the process. This means that you can see the progress of your treatment as it happens, without your teeth being hidden.

Another advantage of this is that it can be used with any age group if you are eligible for fixed braces you can get lingual braces. The benefit of them being for all age groups is that teenagers are able to get them, as when you are at this age you do get self-conscious sometimes, and might be looking for a more discreet option. Sometimes, with fixed braces, you may get a little bit of staining, and with lingual braces, this will be hidden from everyone else, if that is what you are looking for.

Metal braces

Metal braces are a popular option among our patients for a few reasons, one of the main ones being that metal braces have very good durability, and it would take a lot of work to damage them, and if you did damage them, the cost to repair them is fairly low. Because the durability is so good, this also means that they are perfect for very crooked teeth, and should be able to straighten them efficiently.

Secondly, these braces have the advantage of speed, they are one of the fastest ways to straighten your teeth. This means that you can have the peace of mind that you won’t have to deal with crooked teeth for years and years whilst trying to find the best treatment. If you want fast results, then this could be the option for you.

Invisalign

Invisalign is becoming more and more popular, and one of the reasons for this is the level of comfort and ease to maintain. The Invisalign aligners are made of soft and clear plastic, that is moulded to the shape of your teeth, which means they are comfortable and near-invisible at the same time!

Invisalign aligners are also removable, which means it is easy to do your usual dental hygiene routine, by simply just taking them out, brushing and flossing, then popping them back in. It’s as simple as that! You should regularly rinse out your Invisalign tray to maintain a clean mouth, you can also brush them with your toothbrush to clean them.

Here at Aura Dental, we are committed to giving you a better smile, and if you think any of these treatments may be for you, then head down to our dental office and we will have an appointment with you to discuss these options, and more on offer to make sure that you get the perfect plan for you.
