Yarn Bombers of Portland

Last Sunday, we had a group of unidentified knitters and crocheters meet at our shop to organize a yarn bombing in the Ladd’s Addition neighborhood. If you aren’t familiar with yarn bombing, it’s when people adorn their neighborhood with knitting and crochet, rather than painted graffiti. Whenever I see a bike rack covered in a knitted cover, it always makes me smile.
This group let me take their photos, but their identities are disguised!
However, if you’d like to join them, they are part of the Willamette Pedestrian Coalition, and they’re celebrating Walktober right now. I’ve linked to their calendar of events, and they have lots of fun organized walks around the neighborhoods of Portland.
Hi….
Yarn bombing in Fredericksburg, VA…..the local knit shop and fiber guild is sponsoring a yarn bombing this month. The town officials have given them two lamp posts to decorate! This is a conservative community to the max!!!!!
